£6.50 per hour based on a casual hours contract

[added 28.11.11]

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed person to work as a Relief Support Worker within GCHR YMCA Housing Services. The amount of work available varies and cannot be guaranteed but if you have an understanding of the issues facing homeless young people and some spare time then we have the perfect job for you.

Our hostels provide accommodation and support with 24 hour staffing. Relief Workers provide cover for staff absences or when there are vacant roles on our permanent team. We are currently looking for staff to cover daytime and evening shifts. During their shift, Relief Staff will be expected to deal with routine duties such as managing the building and ensuring everyone's Health & Safety, dealing with any client issues or enquiries and keeping appropriate records of the shift's events.

We are looking for people who are able to engage with young people, including those who may be facing a period of difficulty. All YMCA staff must demonstrate the ability to remain motivated and professional when working in challenging situations.
